It’s getting painful now. Every time Labour releases another video or campaign graphic, you can feel the enthusiasm deflate. People 

 to believe again, but they’re being met with messaging so flat and sterile it feels deliberately engineered not to excite anyone.

This should have been Labour’s moment — a chance to replace the most chaotic, self-serving government in modern history. Yet the party’s communication feels paralysed by caution. Every post is polished within an inch of its life, stripped of emotion, and uploaded as if the goal were simply not to offend.

The problem runs deeper than bad tweets. Labour’s comms culture is bureaucratic to its core — layered, risk-averse, and more concerned with protecting the leadership’s comfort zone than inspiring the public. It functions like an internal reporting system, not a campaign. You can almost see the approval chains in the final product.

Social media has become the front line of political persuasion. Most people under forty now get their political information from it. But Labour still treats those platforms as a noticeboard rather than a battleground. Their posts explain, they rarely persuade. They respond, they rarely engage. The language is managerial when it should be motivating.

And that’s a tragedy, because there’s substance to show off. Competent mayors. Policy wins. Capable frontbenchers. All overshadowed by messaging that refuses to show any pulse.

The country is exhausted and ready for something better. People need to hear that Labour has not only the competence to govern but the imagination to change things. That won’t cut through with focus-grouped slogans or endless reactive tweets about Reform. It needs urgency, clarity, and a bit of bloody warmth.

Politics is about emotion as much as evidence. If Labour can’t show it believes in itself, why should anyone else?

Do better. We can’t afford to drop the ball now.

Labour’s Comms Are Glitching

After fourteen years of austerity, corruption and decline, Labour should be bursting with conviction, joy and purpose. Instead, their social media strategy seems to have been designed by an algorithm trained on committee minutes. This isn’t how you build a movement — it’s how you bore one to death.

For a party riding a once-in-a-generation wave of public exhaustion with Tory chaos, Labour’s communications manage to feel like reheated porridge. Where’s the hope, the energy, the point?
